Rotary International

What would it take to change the world? Rotary International is the world's first service club
organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide in more than
200 countries and geographical areas.

Rotary clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.  Rotary club members, known as Rotarians, are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the <

Motto
: Service Above Self.

High ethical standards are encouraged by all Rotarians in all vocations and are evident in
The Four-Way Test
– which has been translated into more than 100 languages & asks
the following questions:

‘Of the things we think, say or do…

  • Is it the TRUTH?

  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?

  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Rotary District 5580

The Rotary District is an administrative unit of Rotary International.  The District Governor is the only
officer of Rotary International in the District and bears the ultimate responsibility for governance.

Rotary District 5580 is unique in that it is an ‘International’ District with Rotary Clubs in two different countries, the United States and Canada.  This affords club members an opportunity to share information and fellowship between the two countries.

District 5580 is also unique in that it encompasses 240,000 square miles in three time zones
(Eastern, Central & Mountain).  If you were driving at an average speed of 70 mph, it would take
17 ½ hours to drive across the district.   District 5580 is home to more than 3,000 Rotarians in 66
clubs plus a number of Interact and Rotaract clubs.
